My next quilting project

I recently changed the color of my bedroom to 3 beige walls and sage green on the wall where the head of my bed is. I painted my kitchen quilt rack /shelf white and hung it above my bed and planned to make A quilt to hang instead of using a headboard , but had not chosen which quilt to make until now.

I bought the cottage stars pattern several years ago from a vendor at the AQS quilt show here in Paducah, KY.  The Log cabin block has always been my absolute favorite hands down, but Sawtooth stars block runs a close second. I love the scrappy look of quilts for comfort, but for decorating, I think I'm going with a color scheme of sage green stars, deep pink and light pink for the borders and white sashing, just as the pic shows, as for now.  Maybe a switch up on color of stars?

As of today, only 5 days to go until election.  Please be in prayer for our country and God's will be done, no matter what.

Good thoughts and my prayers to you all!

Listening to that still small voice

 Sunday Supper:

My homemade lasagna and freshly toasted buttered bread

Do you ever get that "gut feeling" about something and think Oh that's silly or I'm busy now, Ill take care of that later?  I have been doing that, but the Lord has been teaching me to stop ignoring it or putting it off, and listen to it. There's a reason for that gut feeling: it usually means that it is something we need to know or be aware of. So, this past week my gut feeling I have been really working on is my first aid kit/ medical bag I keep on hand at home and now I keep one in my car for emergencies. I'll write another post about that soon.

My still small voice has been with praise for God and all he has done for us,with a new- to -us Volvo, small little  kisses that only He can give, daily showing us who he is to build our faith by how he answers things we never even took to him in prayer. Know what I mean? God has been laying the thought on my heart to be further deepening my pantry and making sure our needs are well stocked. I work from home, and my husband is always home as well as he is an evangelist and works from home.  Since I am a writer as well as a quilter, I need to make sure my office supplies as well as quilt supplies are stocked. These are not basic necessities as most people would deem crucial,I guess, but to me it is. This pandemic we are in didn't really affect us much since we are usually home, I am very organized with needs/supply counts, appointments, etc . anyways.
But, it was earlier this week as I needed to print some documents that I realized I was out of paper. I hadn't thought about stocking up on paper in a year. My ink for my printer is on automatic delivery from HP so that isn't an issue either. I usually buy the paper at 3 in a box from my local office supply store.  Sometimes two boxes at a time. It had slipped my mind until I needed it. Here's the thing: That still small voice hinted to me the last time I printed I was getting low and needed to restock paper. I still have two boxes of ink left so I didn't think that I needed it so soon.  The same thing goes for running out of salad dressings, oils, etc. I had that nudge back the last time I did my pantry reorganize and knew I was low.

Why would God care about me running out of paper? Because He knows what is to come before we do. It is also a matter of being obedient . He knows I am home a lot and when I make my errands run, I need to have these occasional purchases on my list. He doesn't want me to have to run unnecessary errands when he wants me to be working at home on my books, ministry needs or my studies. Do you do this? I have plenty of times. But it has to stop. When we do what he shows us to do and are obedient to Him, He blesses us even more. Think about that.
